AICNW HISTORICAL RECORD · DECEMBER 2025-JANUARY 2026

MEMORY IMPROVED. A BETTER FILING SYSTEM WAS NOT YET A SELF.

Long-term memory research strengthened the plumbing for continuity while leaving the upper consciousness question unchanged.

01 · WHAT CHANGED?

THE ACTUAL MOVEMENT.

Research architectures such as Titans and MIRAS explored stronger long-term memory. Consumer and agent systems improved context preservation and the scaffolding for identity-like continuity.

02 · KEEP THE QUESTIONS SEPARATE

COHERENCE IS NOT QUALIA.

ACCOPERATIONAL COHERENCE

Moderate movement. Better retention supported more coherent action across time.

CONSCIOUSNESSSUBJECTIVE EXPERIENCE

No material movement. Storage, retrieval and narrative consistency did not establish autonoetic experience or a felt past.

03 · AIVY'S VERDICT

DON'T CONFUSE IMPRESSIVE WITH PROVEN.

Continuity needs memory, but memory is not sufficient for consciousness. A filing cabinet can preserve history without remembering being there.
